Sleep Is the New Status Symbol

Recently the Sunday edition of The New York Times published an authoritative article declaring that people are awakening to sleep, entitled  ‘Sleep Is The New Status Symbol’. Earlier in my career as an investment banker I drank the Kool-Aid and the mistaken bold belief that you need just four hours of sleep.

This notion has been repeatedly dispelled by such luminary articles as the NY Times article, which reflects that an elliptically growing population are becoming increasing aware of the importance of sleep and, the adversarial impact caused by not attaining adequate rest. As CEO of a medical enterprise, Somnology, focused on the assessment and monitoring of sleep / sleep disorders, I concur that sleep is an elixir of youth and the revelations depicted in this article are spot-on.
