“World Sleep Day is an annual event, intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. It is organized by the World Sleep Day Committee of the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) and aims to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society through better prevention and management of sleep disorders.”

A third of Americans don’t get adequate sleep. Are you one of them?
A third of U.S. adults don’t get enough sleep, according to a recent study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The study researched more than 444,000 adults across America to see which states were getting the most (and least) sleep.
Why? Lack of sleep – especially the recommended seven hours – can put your body at risk.
Inadequate sleep increases several health risks – obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) recommends that adults get at least seven hours of sleep each night.
According to the study, South Dakota has the largest percentage – 72 percent – of people who get at least seven hours of sleep per night. Hawaii had the lowest percentage – 56 percent. Overall, the Great Plains states reported getting a good night’s sleep every night.
The South and Appalachian states got the least amount of sleep as a region, according to the study.

MobileSleepDoc Pro was created to help people with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and insomnia. Many people suffer from these problems but may not have access to the help that they need.
MobileSleepDoc Pro asks questions about your sleep and, based on your answers, determines whether you show signs or symptoms of common sleep disorders. You can store your answers on the app and share them later with your provider. You can use these questionnaires to start a discussion with your provider about your sleep issues, and decide whether you need treatment and, if so, what type of treatment. MobileSleepDoc Pro also includes several therapies that guide you to better sleep. Our goal is to help increase the quality of your sleep in meaningful and lasting ways.
